Opportunities to Volunteer

about-image
December 5, 2023

There are many ways to volunteer for my campaign. The more help I get the better the chances of my being elected. Here are some ways you may be able to help my campaign.

I could use a campaign manager or managers:

The 87th Assembly District is very large and includes parts of 5 counties. Marathon, Taylor, Clark, Rusk, and Sawyer,) I’m not sure how or if redistricting will affect the district where I reside. But a contact person in each part of the District would be helpful. But redistricting may change all that.

I could use someone to make the campaign aware of events to attend:

There are a lot of events. Some come from candidates like Tammy Baldwin, the Democratic party of Wisconsin, or local county parties. Becoming aware of them all could be a great diversion of my time. Someone who could bring these events to the attention of my campaign would be very helpful.

Distribute Campaign Signs:

At some point in the campaign we are going to need to distribute campaign signs, both mine and other candidates. Anyone who can store them and distribute them would be helpful. Anyone who knows where Democrats live and has a vehicle to distribute them will be very useful.

Answer calls and send out literature and other campaign materials:

Sending out literature or other campaign materials could be very helpful. The person doing this would need to have a phone number made public and have postaage stamps and boxes, envelopes, etc. There may be callers who would just want to harass the campaign. We have had some of that in the past.

Write letters to the editor:

Letters to the editor are always helpful. Newspapers will probably not give me, a candidate, free access to be writing letters to the editor when I should be advertising. Writing about issues I like would be a good way to do this. Or an opinion on a hurtful bill that was passed or under consideration could help. I do not want to be associated with negative letters that put others down.

Help write newspaper ads:

Newspaper ads are helpful. How they are done can be of great importance. Creative people with a knack for informing people without a lot of words could be very helpful. People with knowledge of certain issues are especially useful.

Help write and record radio ads:

Radio is a good medium to connect to people. The ads are generally affordable and can run through the length of the campaign. They should be easy to listen to and informative.

Help get signatures:

In order to get my name on the ballot I will need to get 200 official signatures. There is a limited time frame that the signatures can to be collected. Anyone willing to take me around to those who would sign will make that process more effective and less time consuming.

Social Media:

Track and make me aware of other posts and assist me in posting on various social media. I expect to be very busy during the campaign. I may not be able to keep track of what is going on on social media. It would be very helpful to have a volunteer track issues and make me aware of them.
